Cause me pain Hedi Slimane

"CAUSE ME PAIN HEDI SLIMANE"

"CAUSE ME PAIN HEDI SLIMANE"
I perfectly remember that House of Holland tee... and I remember I wanted it; as a matter of fact, I sill want it. In those times Slimane was still the Dior Homme head designer and I LOVED his work there.I still love it. Nowadays he is like... I do not really know exactly what does he do, but one of the things he does is photography. And he does it pretty well with his now signature balck and white. Sometimes I enter his blog and he really inspires me. And this entry in his visual diary really moved me and my 18th-century-british-portraits obsession.

shoes, shoes, SHOES! / ¡¡ZAPATOS!!

Shoes by Manolo Blahnik for the  Sofia Coppola's film Marie Antoinette, 2006

What kind of girl does not love shoes? They're pretty AND wearable... Men: do never say the contrary, we just love'em, and the girls AND boys from the 18th century loved them too.

Today starts the new Once TV historic series "Los Minondo". It's about this family and their lives through more than 200 years of mexican history (you know, taking the Bicentenario as excuse). The production is great, the costume design is the most perfect I've ever seen in a mexican series (except the wigs :S), the photography, the cast... Everything is wonderful just like can be only in an Once TV production.

Step 1: Library / Paso 1: Biblioteca

I've started reading and these are the firts books I took from the Vasconcelos Library, for getting in the right mood :)

Want to know more about these books? Look at the blog's bibliography :D

First the First / Primero lo Primero

Sabatini, The Music Lesson / La clase de música

My mom says so. "First the First".
So here it goes: I love history, I study fashion design, I am obsesive and have a weakness for everything 18th century. But this blog is not (only) for my obssesions, it is for my THESIS. Yes the terror word "thesis" at the end of the career :S. Let me tell you about my thesis:
It will be called "The influence of fashion in the body and the artistic interpretation". For this I need plenty of things that you will know in this blog: a singer, historically correct garments, late baroque repertoire, a camera man, history books, fashion history books and a lot of patience for hand sewing. It will end up like this: The singer will have a late baroque repertoire and I will make her the historical garments based in (obviously) historical patterns, everything handmade. She will study with the stays on and the camera man will document all the changes of her posture, singins, breath, phrases, etc. This videos will be uploaded in a YouTube.com channel and in ths blog. At the end there will be a concert wearing her 18th century garments, with baroque instruments and early music players.
That's the resume and now yo can tell the hard work that awaits me :D
